About AsylumCompass
Public asylum and immigration court records, made easier to understand and use.
Why this exists
Live Oak UCC helped me when I needed help, and asked for nothing back. AsylumCompass is how I pass that on. Public records about asylum and immigration courts should be useful to the people looking for answers. This site turns large government files into clear pages that connect the numbers to their sources and explain what they mean.
What you can do here
Find a court by name or ZIP, explore its historical records, understand a notice and find qualified legal help. Attorneys, advocates, journalists and researchers can examine the same data across courts, judges and time periods.
Free, and staying that way
Every page and published data file is free to use and will stay free. You can browse without creating an account, seeing ads or paying a subscription.
How we show our work
Use Sources to trace official files and published editions, Methodology to inspect counting rules, Definitions to understand terms, and Updates to distinguish website changes from data releases. The Disclaimer explains the limits of public statistics and general procedural information.
Data transparency
Methodology, source references, release metadata and selected data files are publicly available. These files allow readers to check published counts and calculations where the necessary records are included. Published aggregate files use CC0 1.0 and can be reused.
Independent by design
AsylumCompass is an independent project built from public government records. Government agencies do not operate or endorse it. For decisions about your own case, use official notices and qualified legal help.
