Accessibility
Use the data with labeled controls, keyboard navigation, readable tables and text alternatives.
Reading data
Statistics provide explicit values and denominators. Trend charts are presented as tables with optional visual bars. Tables scroll within their own region on small screens. Meaning does not depend on color.
Keyboard and small screens
Use the skip link to reach the main content, Tab to move through links and controls, and Enter or Space to open disclosure controls. Long pages offer an On this page index. On a small screen, wide tables scroll inside a labeled region; the rest of the page remains readable without horizontal scrolling.
Using the map
Maps are not required to find a court or read its records. The court directory map loads on entry; maps in alternate views load when opened. Court names, addresses, routing results and official links are also available in text. Use the court list or ZIP lookup without selecting map shapes.
Light and dark
The interface follows your operating system’s light or dark setting, and a control in the footer can override it for this browser. Both themes are checked against the same contrast targets: at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for controls and chart marks. Colour is never the only way a value, a state or a missing number is shown.
Language and motion
Page text is available in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. Official names and source documents retain their original language. Translations are maintained and checked by AI against the source meaning. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Report a barrier
If part of the site does not work with your device, browser or assistive technology, write to us with the page address and what happened. Please do not include case details.
Testing status
Documentation views reviewed 2026-10-01. Checks cover keyboard navigation, representative phone, tablet and desktop views, both themes, and English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese pages. Automated HTML, translation and accessibility checks supplement this review. This describes tested views, not every browser or assistive technology, and is not a completed independent WCAG conformance audit.
Limitations and useful alternatives
Interactive maps and charts may behave differently across browsers and assistive technologies. If a visual control is difficult to use, use the accompanying table, text directory or official source link. Official documents and external websites have their own accessibility behavior. The page URL, affected control or text, browser and assistive technology help record and diagnose an accessibility problem. Keep case numbers and personal documents out of these notes.
